Great news for our club as 2018 begins to continue to look like a strong year for our young club.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ninos Arkhiom as the Sporting Rovers Football Club's technical director for season 2018 and beyond.

Ninos will be bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience at state league level with his continuous involvement with the Southern District State League sides in both the men's and women's programs over the last few seasons.

Ninos will continue his role with the Southern Districts State League sides in 2018 but will play a vital part in building future superstars for Sporting Rovers in 2018 and beyond.

It will be an important year for Ninos and our club as we will look to introduce the following initiatives to strengthen our junior football program.

- The introduction of SAP (Skills Acquisition Program) for junior players aged 4 through to 16. This will be the main focus to drive junior players to acquire the football skill set. This will be important for the development of all players new or existing to the game of football.
- Coaching mentor-ship for junior coaches looking to take their leadership and coaching skills to a new level. Ninos will bring his expertise and help guide coaches on skills, drills, formations and techniques for coaches, the club will also be pushing strongly for new junior coaches to come on board and acquire their accreditation in grassroots coaching and to build up their coaching portfolio's.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Ninos to the Rovers family, definitely a very determined, enthusiastic, driven and humble person who see's a very big future in the development of junior talent both at the Rovers and the District level.

We look forward to Ninos putting on the Red and Black shirt for the first time.

Awesome news for our club.
We have been selected as the Goals for Grassroots club for the round 2 clash between our beloved Western Sydney Wanderers FC and Central Coast Mariners.
Thanks to the Hyundai Goals For Grassroots program our club will receive a guaranteed $1000 and an opportunity to earn an additional $1000 for every goal the Wanderers score in the round 2 match.
This is a much needed cash injection for the club and will go towards purchasing new equipment for our juniors in our new mini and skills acquisition programs.
